לקבוצה המנצחת במוקדמות משחקי הקרוספיט במרידיאן, CrossFit Riviera – נודע זה עתה על פסילתה מהמשך התחרות, זאת עקב הפרה של סעיף מספר החוקים של הקרוספיט גיימס 2018. הקבוצה השוויצרית המבטיחה, תאלץ להמתין עם שאיפותיה התחרותיות ולא תעלה למשחקי הקרוספיט השנה.

קרוספיט ריביירה הודיעו בפוסט אינסטגרם, שהפסילה הגיעה כתוצאה מהפרה של תת סעיף, מספר החוקים של משחקי הקרוספיט: "סעיף מספר 1.18 שרק חבר מועדון אחד יכול להיות רשום בתור בעל מועדון של קרוספיט. במקרה שלנו מארק (של קרוספיט ריביירה) היה בעל הבוקס היחיד בקבוצה. בתחילת השנה, סינתיה (חברת צוות) פנתה בבקשה לקבל אישור למועדון שלה, הבקשה אושרה מוקדם יותר משצופה, לכן ההפרה של אותו סעיף".

To all our supporters, fans, friends and family With a heavy heart and with great disappointment, our team CrossFit Riviera was informed today, by the Director of the CrossFit Games, Justin Bergh, that our team, according to their best judgement, stands in violation of one of the points in the rule book and hence has been disqualified for the 2018 Games season. We would like to take a minute to explain the situation to all of you who cheered for us, who supported us and everyone that made us push harder than we could have ever done just by ourselves. Point 1.18 of the rulebook states that only one member of the team can be on official licensee of a CrossFit affiliate. In our case, this used to only be Mareck for CrossFit Riviera. At the beginning of the year, Cynthia filed for her own affiliate and her request was approved much quicker than anticipated. Hence the violation of rule 1.18. However, as further stated in the rule book there is an exception to the clause which we firmly believed and still believe applied to our team. As a result, our team has been disqualified for an administrative and not a performance based reason. This however does not diminish the fact that our whole team has sacrificed a lot to get to the point where we are today. We are sad and disappointed that none of our arguments were able to convince CrossFit HQ otherwise. As a team, we are only left to accept the decision of CrossFit HQ and wish all the teams competing at the 2018 Games the best of luck. מה זה סעיף 1.18?

סעיף זה קובע שבעל מועדון רשום (Licensee of Record) לא יוכל להתחרות תחת קבוצה שהיא לא שייכת למועדון שלו. המצב היחיד שבו בעל מועדון רשום, יכול להמשיך להתחרות תחת קבוצה ששונה מקבוצת המועדון שלו, הוא רק אם אותו אתלט הופך לבעל מועדון אחרי סגירת אימון האופן ("Open") הראשון של אותה עונה. סייג נוסף הוא שבעל המועדון הרשום יפעיל מועדון שמציע רק אימוני קרוספיט קידס, ושלא יתאמן כלל במועדון שרשום על שמו – מה שיאפשר לו להתחרות עבור קבוצה של מועדון אחר.

הפרטים הטכניים לא בדיוק ידועים לנו כרגע ולא ברור מה היה מצבה של סינתיה בתחיל האופן מבחינת רישום המועדון, או מה בדיוק המועדון שלה הציע. נעדכן שכפרטים נוספים יוודעו לנו. ברמה הפרשנית, נראה שסעיף זה פעיל על מנת למנוע כינון של סופר קבוצות – משום שבדרך כלל אתלטים דגולים נוטים להיות גם בעלי מועדונים רשומים.

ומי יחליף אותם?

לצערנו – זו לא תהיה קבוצה ישראלית (אלא אם כן יפסלו עוד שלוש קבוצות) שתעפיל במקום החבר'ה השוויצרים.

קרוספיט גלילאו (CrossFit Galileo) מטולוז שבצרפת, שיושבים כעת במקום החמישי בטבלה, הם אלה שכנראה יקחו את מקומם של קרוספיט ריביירה.
